Description
This residency provides AIX administrators with a definitive reference for architecting, optimizing, and protecting mission-critical workloads on IBM FlashSystem. By delivering 'stack-aware' knowledge, this book bridges the gap between the AIX kernel and modern all-flash storage. Readers will gain deep technical insights into MPIO tuning, LVM alignment, and the Host Attachment Kit (HAK) to ensure peak performance for high-demand databases like Oracle and DB2. Furthermore, it addresses the modern HA/DR landscape, offering a clear roadmap for leveraging the management capabilities of PowerHA SystemMirror, PowerVC, and Copy Services Manager (CSM).
Starts 30 March 2026, ends 08 May 2026, and requires 8 residents

Benefits to Resident
Residents will be in contact with key architecture, development and support personnel for IBM FLashSystem during the residency.
IBM Redbooks want technical practitioners to be recognized for their newly gained knowledge, experience, and accomplishments. Therefore, upon successful delivery of the publication produced by this IBM Redbooks residency, you will become eligible to earn an IBM Redbooks Digital Badge issued through Pearson VUE Acclaim.
Resident Prerequistes
A basic requirement for all residents is the ability to read and clearly express concepts and procedures in common English.
All participants must be able to read and write technical procedures clearly in English. You aren't expected to meet every single criteria listed; however, at a minimum, you should have a firm grasp of FlashSystem and AIX integration concepts. Practical, hands-on experience is highly preferred. Prior experience with Redbooks residencies is a plus, but we always welcome enthusiastic new authors who are eager to contribute!
