    Abstract

This IBM Redpaper presents a technical case study describing, in detail, what a realistic enterprise-level application and system architecture would look like for an environment that provides AIX and Websphere-hosted applications that are integrated with Microsoft Active Directory-based authentication and directory services.

We recommend that readers of this paper also become familiar with the following IBM Redbooks publication: Running IBM WebSphere Application Server on System p and AIX Optimization and Best Practices, SG24-7347. In addition to the topics covered in that book, this paper provides a reference architecture and technical guide for the design and integration of highly available WebSphere applications hosted on AIX with Active Directory-based services.
