Jon Tate is a Project Manager for IBM System Storage SAN Solutions at the International Technical Support Organization, San Jose Center. Before joining the ITSO in 1999, he worked in the IBM Technical Support Center, providing Level 2 support for IBM storage products. Jon has 23 years of experience in storage software and management, services, and support, and is both an IBM Certified IT Specialist and an IBM SAN Certified Specialist. Jon also serves as the UK Chair of the Storage Networking Industry Association.

Tom Jahn is a Senior I/T Specialist for IBM TSS Storage Systems Sales in Germany. He has 11 years of experience providing technical sales support in IBM. Tom provided technical sales support for networking and server consolidation on OS/390 UNIX for IBM and its clients before he joined the storage brand eight years ago. He is engaged in providing technical support for Open Systems storage solutions across multiple platforms and a wide client base, currently with a focus on storage virtualization. He holds a Dipl. Ing. degree in Computer Science from the Staatliche Studienakademie Sachsen.

Peter Mescher is a Product Engineer for the Solutions Central team, IBM Systems and Technology Group, Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. He has eight years of experience in IBM Storage and SAN troubleshooting, architecture, and implementation. This is his fifth IBM Redbooks publication.

Paulo Neto is a SAN Designer for Managed Storage Services supporting European clients. He has been with IBM for more than 19 years and has eight years of storage and SAN experience. Before joining MSS, he provided Tivoli Storage Manager, SAN and AIX support and services for Global Technology Services in Portugal. His areas of expertise include SAN design, storage implementation, storage management, Disaster Recovery, System p, and HACMP. He is an IBM Certified IT Specialist, IBM Certified Advanced Deployment Professional - Tivoli Storage Management Solutions, and a Brocade Certified SAN Designer. He holds a degree in Electronics and Computer Engineering from the Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto, Portugal.
