The goal of the residency is to create how-to usage perspective content describing data management tasks for Hybrid Cloud Solutions with SAP HANA on IBM Power Virtual Server using sample scenarios. This book addresses topics for IT Architects, IT Specialists, Developers, Technical Sellers, and anyone looking to implement and manage Hybrid Cloud Solutions with SAP HANA on IBM Power Systems Virtual Servers. Moreover, this publication provides documentation to transfer the how-to-skills to the technical teams, and solution guidance to the sales team. This book compliments the documentation available at IBM Documentation and aligns with the educational materials provided by Systems Technical Training Team.
Starts 03 Oct 2022, ends 11 Nov 2022 (6 weeks) and requires 6 residents

Benefits to Resident
This in a great opportunity to participate in the IBM Redbooks residency program and use the IBM Power Systems Virtual Server environment, SAP HANA, additional software, training materials, and documentation resources to develop how-to scenarios for hybrid cloud deployments, hybrid cloud disaster recovery, and on-premises and PowerVS automation deployments and document them in the Hybrid Cloud Solutions with SAP HANA on IBM Power Systems Virtual Servers IBM Redbooks publication.
The residency team collaborates with the technical focal points from the IBM Power Virtual Server team, SAP HANA SMEs, IBM Spectrum Protect SMEs, and IBM Systems Storage development teams, and get hands-on experiences while implementing case studies to show Hybrid Cloud Solutions with SAP HANA aspects implemented in the IBM Power Systems Virtual Server.
After these six weeks experience (refer to the residency timetable), the residents will refresh skills, gain new skills, make new network connections, and provide a leading role on pre-sales, implementation, and support.
===>>>>> Please NOTE the Residency Program Timetable <<<<======

The residents will utilize any available documentation, IBM Power Systems Virtual Server environment, and software resources to:
Some of the topics to be covered:
+ Installation and configuration of SAP Cloud Connector for a Hybrid Cloud deployment.
+ Sample use case for SAP SCC in a Hybrid Cloud deployment. Pros/Cons of options. The samples should cover different options (Federation, RTR, CIG add-on, and so on)
+ Hybrid Cloud for Disaster Recovery in PowerVS - HSR
+ Hybrid Cloud for Disaster Recovery in PowerVS - Based on Spectrum Protect
+ Deployment automation on-Premises and PowerVS. HA-DR-HA for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server + Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
A basic requirement for all residents is the ability to read and clearly express concepts and procedures in common English.
NOTE: You won't match one-to-one all the necessary technical prerequisites, but the combined residency team will collectively bring the skills required for the project. Please provide as much detail of your technical expertise and experiences with the solution.
The selected residents will bring the following (combined) technical skills to the residency:
+ IBM Power Systems Virtual Server
+ SAP experience including databases
+ IBM Spectrum Computing Suite setup and installation
+ IBM Cloud Object Storage
+ IBM Power Systems installation, management including virtualization features
+ Red Hat Enterprise Linux and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server installation and management
+ IBM System Storage Solutions and disk replication experiences
+ Willing to read, learn, dialogue, ask questions, and challenge the teams
In addition to authoring a Redbooks deliverable, participants will be expected to create at least one technical blog post and to appear in one video to complement the main deliverable. The blog posts can be done during the residency, or immediately after the residency ends and the participant has returned home. Participants will also be asked to help promote all deliverables created during the residency through social media.
