Note: Many of the topics and scenarios to be researched, tested, and documented are brainstormed prior to the start of the residency and during the first few days of the residency with the residency team, technical focal points, and solutions teams. This book addresses topics for IT architects, IT specialists, sellers and anyone looking to implement and manage containerize application security on-premises and in the Cloud. Moreover, this publication provides documentation to transfer the how-to-skills to the technical teams, and solution guidance to the sales team. This book compliments the documentation available at IBM Documentation and aligns with the educational materials provided by IBM Systems Technical Training.

This is a unique opportunity to participate in the IBM Redbooks Residency Program and use available resources to collaborate and develop content for security implementation techniques for Kubernetes and Containers in Red Hat OpenShift on hybrid cloud environments with IBM Power Systems. The residency team collaborates with the technical focal points, product managers, and peers to gather ideas, get hands-on experiences while implementing use case scenarios for security implementation in Red Hat OpenShift for Kubernetes and Containers on hybrid multicloud environments with IBM Power Systems.
After these 5 weeks experience (refer to the residency timetable), the residents will refresh skills, gain new skills, make connections, and provide a leading role in pre-sales, implementation, and support.

This residency begins on September 12, 2022, and ends October 14, 2022 (5 weeks, please see schedule below). The residency is running remotely (best effort) with the following format:

The residents will utilize available resources to:
+ Discuss and document security features and capabilities for multicloud environments with containerized applications on IBM Power Systems.
+ Design, test, and document security implementation techniques case scenarios with containerized workloads running on Red Hat OpenShift in hybrid multicloud environments with IBM Power Systems.
+ Provide feedback to the development teams on current features, behaviors and wish list features that can be developed in upcoming releases.
+ Host a webinar to educate the teams on the lessons learned during the residency.
Note: The document highlights the current available security offerings for containerized workloads supported on Red Hat OpenShift for IBM Power Systems including best practices.
A basic requirement for all residents is the ability to read and clearly express concepts and procedures in common English.
NOTE: You won't match one-to-one all the necessary technical prerequisites, but the combined residency team will collectively bring the skills required for the project. Please provide as much detail of your technical expertise and experiences with the solution.

+ Experiences with applications running in containers managed by Red Hat OpenShift in multicloud environments.
Other technical skills relevant to IBM Power Systems servers experiences
+ Include any relevant information to the residency topic including IBM Power Systems solutions deployment expertise, monitoring, troubleshooting, security, and performance tuning.
In addition to authoring a Redbooks deliverable, participants will be expected to create at least one technical blog post and to appear in one video to complement the main deliverable. The blog posts can be done during the residency, or immediately after the residency ends and the participant has returned home. Participants will also be asked to help promote all deliverables created during the residency through social media.
