    Abstract

This IBM Redpaper publication gives a broad understanding of how to set up and configure the SSL server of z/VM 5.2 in a short time frame.

It also provides an easy method to protect the communication to z/VM server, especially for administrative tasks, thus increasing the total security and protection of the z/VM system. Sensitive information such as passwords from administrators are protected when accessing the system independently from the network.

This paper is designed for IT architects and system programmers that need clarification on how to use and set up this type of configuration.
