This course reviews the main features CICS Transaction Gateway, its installation, operation and problem determination. Hands-on lab exercises show how to operate CTG demonstrating how it operates with CICS Transaction Server, WebSphere Application Server, the CICS Explorer. A problem determination exercise demonstrates some problem scenarios and how to solve them.
Upon completion of this course, students should be able to describe what CICS Transaction Gateway is, its main features and operation on z/OS. How to test its operation. How to integrate it with CICS Explorer. How it CICS Transaction Gateway for z/OS can be monitored using IBM Tivoli Omegamon XE for CICS TG. Demonstrate some problem determination scenarios
