Benefits to Resident
This in an unique opportunity to work in Poughkeepsie, home of the IBM POWER Systems Clustering Solutions, and use the tools, utilities, documentation and other resources available to help the IT professional leverage the high availability features and implementation best practices of the IBM PowerHA SystemMirror for AIX and the IBM POWER platform to deploy business continuity solutions. Residents will work closely with the technical focal points, the development teams, and get hands-on experience examining PowerHA features and identify and document best practices for exploiting these features. They will also participate in training and discussion sessions with ITSO technical project leaders and the PowerHA development teams, provide feedback, and author the IBM PowerHA SystemMirror 7.1.x for AIX Best Practices and Reference Architectures Redbooks publication. After this six-week experience (see the residency time table), each resident will have refreshed skills and a broader knowledge of PowerHA best practices and reference architecture on POWER systems thus enabling them to provide a leading role with PowerHA on POWER systems sales and support.
