IBM Redbooks Residency is an IBM Digital Badge eligible program

At IBM, we feel it is important to recognize the commitment Redbooks authors have made to increase their knowledge or enhance their skills or impress us with their creativity or evangelize our solutions.

Successful completion of an IBM Redbooks residency that creates either an IBM Redbooks or Redpaper publication makes you eligible to earn an IBM Digital Badge. Once you have completed the requirements to earn a badge, we will submit your data and begin badge processing. It takes approximately 5-10 business days for you to receive an email asking you to claim your badge. If you do not wish to claim your badge, simply ignore the Acclaim email.

In addition to any notification from IBM informing you of your completion status for this actvity, you will also receive a separate IBM badge claim notification email from youracclaim.com upon successful completion. IBM leverages the services of Pearson VUE's Acclaim service (a 3rd party) to assist in the administration of the IBM Digital Badge program. In order to issue you an IBM Digital Badge, your name, email address and badge earned will be shared with Pearson VUE Acclaim, who will treat your details in a manner consistent with IBM's policies. You will receive a notification from Acclaim at which point you will have the option to accept the badge.

Silver is the first plateau in our badge program. To earn an IBM Redbooks Silver Author badge, successfully participate through completion in an IBM Redbooks Residency that publishes either an IBM Redbook, or IBM Redpaper. The residency announcement will contain any requirements and skills required for the project and your project leader and residency coordinator will be able to answer questions specific to a project. The badge submission process will be automatic with no additional steps required by you.

Gold is the second plateau in our badge program. To earn an IBM Redbooks Gold Author badge, you must already have already earned a Silver badge and have successfully participated through completion in your third IBM Redbooks Residency that publishes either an IBM Redbook, or IBM Redpaper. The residency announcement will contain any requirements and skills required for the project and your project leader and residency coordinator will be able to answer questions specific to a project. Remind your residency coordinator that the residency you are on makes you eligible for the Gold badge.

Platinum is the third and highest plateau in our badge program. To earn an IBM Redbooks Platinum Author badge, you must already have already earned a Gold badge and have successfully participated through completion in your sixth IBM Redbooks Residency that publishes either an IBM Redbook, or IBM Redpaper. The residency announcement will contain any requirements and skills required for the project and your project leader and residency coordinator will be able to answer questions specific to a project. Remind your residency coordinator that the residency you are on makes you eligible for the Platinum badge.

We are considering the addition of other badges for other contributions, however there are no additional offerings than what is shown above at this time.
