Creating an SQL Performance Monitor in Operations Navigator Database

In Version 4 Release 3 and later releases of OS/400, the Memory Resident Database Monitor allows you to monitor database performance. With Client Access Express V4R4M0, a graphical interface to the Memory Resident Database Monitor is also available. In the graphical interface, the Memory Resident Monitor is referred to as SQL Performance Monitor.
Note:You need job-special control authority (*JOBCTL) to use the SQL performance monitor. You also need read authority to the QUSRSYS library.

To create an SQL monitor, complete the following steps:

  1. In the AS/400 Operations Navigator window, expand the system you want to use.
  2. Expand Database.
  3. Right-click SQL Performance Monitor and select New.
