Introduction to your 4758 Coprocessor

Rapid changes in technology mean that your data may be less secure and more at risk of disclosure than you prefer. The 4758 PCI Cryptographic Coprocessor for AS/400 provides services to ensure integrity, privacy, and authenticity of your information assets.

For more information about your 4758 Coprocessor, refer to the following pages:

4758 Coprocessor and CCA CSP features

The 4758 Coprocessor contains hardware accelerators for cryptographic operations. A tamper-resistant module stores the master encryption key.

The Common Cryptographic Architecture Cryptographic Service Provider (CCA CSP) is packaged as OS/400 Option 35. It provides a security application programming interface (SAPI) to which you can write applications that allow you to access the cryptographic services of your 4758 Coprocessor.

The features page describes in greater detail what the 4758 Coprocessor and CCA CSP have to offer.

4758 Coprocessor requirements

Your system must meet some requirements before you can install and use your 4758 Coprocessor. Use the requirements page to determine whether you are ready to install and use your 4758 Coprocessor on your system.
