LDAP command line utilities

AS/400 Directory Services includes five utilities that allow you to perform actions on the LDAP directory server from the QSH shell on AS/400. These utilities use the LDAP APIs. You can use these utilities from the shell command line or call them from your programs. You may also find them useful as programming examples. When you install the Windows LDAP client that is included with AS/400 Directory Services, you also install code that is very similar to the source code for the shell utilities.

The utilities are as follows:

• ldapmodify and ldapadd utilities, which add and modify LDAP directory entries.
• ldapdelete utility, which removes entries from the LDAP directory.
• ldapsearch utility, which searches the LDAP directory for entries.
• ldapmodrdn utility, which modifies the Relative Distinguished Name (RDN) of LDAP directory entries.
