Contents

It is easy to do some minor customization on the ODWEK CGI user interface to cater to your company's needs. In this document, we show you how to change the image logo and the title of the ODWEK CGI log on screen.

To make the customization, perform the following tasks:
  1. Select or create a logo image for your new log on screen.

    The sample logon.htm and template.htm uses the odcol2in.gif image, which is shown as follow:

    An example of logon.htm
    For this example, we select an image of an airplane, airplane10.gif, for the new logo, as shown below:

    An example of an image of an airplane

    You can use any image you have in GIF or JPG format for your ODWEK.
  2. Copy your image file into the /images directory.
  3. Edit the logon.htm and change the odcol2in.gif to the name of your image you just copied into the /images directory.
    Original code:

    <p align="center"><img src="/images/odcol2in.gif" width="100" height="100"></p>
    Change the code to:
    <p align="center"><img src="/images/<customized image file>" ></p>
    In this example, we use airplane10.gif for the customized image file. You may have to remove or edit the width= and height= statements to get your image to fit properly on the screen.
  4. Change the following lines in the logon.htm.
    Original code:

    <title>OnDemand Internet Connection</title>
    <h1 align="center">
    OnDemand Internet Client</h1>
    Change the code to:
    <title>My ODWEK Website</title>
    <h1 align="center">
    My ODWEK Website</h1>
  5. Go to the /templates directory and edit the template.htm and change the code.
    Original code:

    <p align="center"><img src="/images/odcol2in.gif" width="100" height="100"></p>
    Change the code to:
    <p align="center"><img src="/images/<customized image file>" ></p>
  6. Edit the template.htm and change the title.
    Original code:

    <title>OnDemand Internet Connection</title>
    <h1 align="center">
    OnDemand Internet Client</h1>
    Change the code to:
    <title>My ODWEK Website</title>
    <h1 align="center">
    My ODWEK Website</h1>
  7. Close your browser and reopen your browser, type in the following URL:
    http://<LOCAL_HOST>/<ODWEK_HOME>/logon.htm
    In our example, we use http://localhost/MyODWEK/logon.htm.
You should see a screen similar to the following figure (your image will be different).

Now you are flying!
