Integrated xSeries Solutions for iSeries deliver value to customers to reduce the cost and complexity of managing and deploying Windows Server applications on Intel. Support for Linux applications on Integrated xSeries Server or Integrated xSeries Adapter (IXS/IXA) is being offered to provide additional value to customers who require Linux applications to run on Intel servers, but who wish to leverage the powerful virtualization capabilities, shared resources, and operations of iSeries to support a Linux environment on xSeries servers.

Yessong Johng is an IBM Certified IT Specialist at the IBM International Technical Support Organization, Rochester Center. He started his IT career at IBM as a S/38 Systems Engineer in 1982 and has been with S/38, AS/400, and now iSeries for 20 years. He writes extensively and develops and teaches IBM classes worldwide on the areas of IT Optimization, whose topics include Linux, AIX 5L, and Windows implementations on iSeries. He is also interested in the e-business area, especially WebSphere implementations on iSeries.

Phil Ainsworth is a Senior Technical Specialist from Melbourne, Australia and has 23 years of experience supporting the iSeries, AS/400, and their predecessors. He provides presales technical support for the iSeries marketing team, and specializes in Windows integration on iSeries. Other areas of interest include Logical Partitioning, the implementation of Storage Area Networks on iSeries, iSeries Access, and Domino on iSeries. Since 1988 Phil has co-authored 10 redbooks on AS/400 and iSeries technologies, including six redbooks on running Windows and Linux on the integrated xSeries server (IXS) and integrated xSeries adapter (IXA). He has worked with many of the Client Access products for the OS/400 and has spent the last several years supporting the FSIOP, Integrated PC Server, Integrated Netfinity Server, and the Integrated xSeries Server for iSeries, and Linux on iSeries.
