IBM Host Integration: A Practical Approach to Performance Planning
This redbook is intended to help IT managers and architects to tune a host integration solution based upon a combination of Host On-Demand, Screen Customizer, and Host Publisher. Tuning a solution based upon these products is a relatively simple process; however, it does involve many interrelated technologies.
This book discusses basic performance planning issues involved in implementing the host integration solution, covering server hardware, operating system, networking subsystem, Web server and Java tuning guidelines.
Performance tuning guidance is provided for the following:
Server hardware
Server operating system
Web server
Java Virtual Machine
WebSphere Application Server
Host Publisher
Host On-Demand
Recommendations made in this book are not all theoretical. They are largely based upon ITSO implementations and tests in laboratory environments.
