    Abstract

    This IBM Redbooks publication covers the planning for S/390 FICON channels operating in FCV mode into an existing S/390 ESCON channel environment. It provides the information required for all stages of planning for the S/390 9672 G5 and G6 FICON channel in operating FCV mode. Also included is information required for planning for the installation and use of the FICON Bridge adapter in the 9032 Model 5 ESCON Director, and the OS/390 definition changes required to support the movement of control units from ESCON to FICON (FCV mode) channels.
