Abstract

The purpose of this IBM Redbook is to define and describe what storage consolidation is, and how to achieve it.

This redbook is intended to help consultants and IT managers identify requirements and opportunities for server consolidation. It presents IBM storage solutions that can help facilitate both the IBM and non-IBM server consolidation processes, and maximize their benefits in the short and long term.

This second edition includes more current product information, Storage Area Network (SAN) solutions for storage consolidation, and details on the ALIGN methodology.
