Abstract

This redbook gives a broad understanding of the concepts and capabilities of the new S/390 FICON architecture and channels.

The information in this redbook is presented to provide some awareness of the requirements of FICON (FCV) configurations to facilitate the migration to FICON channels prior to the channels being installed.
