Abstract

This redbook covers the practicalities of implementing S/390 FICON channels operating in FCV mode into an existing S/390 ESCON channel environment. It describes all stages of implementing the FICON channel in FCV mode which includes the installation of the FICON Bridge adapter in the 9032 Model 5 ESCON Director, and the OS/390 definition changes to support the movement of control units from ESCON to FICON (FCV mode) channels.
