Communications Server for AIX Explored

This redbook describes many of the new functions in Communications
Server for AIX. It provides working examples and configuration
guidelines for these new functions. This book could be used to explore
features such as APPC over TCP/IP, AIX Sockets over SNA, SNA
Application Access for AIX, SNA Client Access for AIX and SNA Gateway.
It includes configuration examples for a block multiplexer adapter and
an ESCON adaptor used in SNA Channel for AIX and TCP/IP. The book
explores some new features of SNA Gateway.

Some guidelines for problem determination of Communication Server for
AIX are provided in the book. It applies to the AIX Version 4.1.4
operating system using Communications Server for AIX Version 4.0. It
provides a starting point for getting familiar with Communications
Server for AIX.

Some knowledge of AIX V4, SMIT and System Network Architecture (SNA) is
assumed.
