Abstract
This IBM® Redpaper™ publication describes in detail the Monitored Computer Storage Space reports available in Tivoli® Storage Productivity Center V4.2. This paper also provides a comparison of the Monitored Computer Storage Space report enhancements to the older existing Tivoli Storage Productivity Center reports, which do not account for the way that storage is distributed across the storage entities.
Note that the older reports continue to exist in Tivoli Storage Productivity Center and are necessary to support earlier functions. The enhanced functionality of the Monitored Computer Storage Space reports has added a way to relate storage entities that are distributed across the various storage types based on the ratio of space allocated on the various storage types.
Also provided in this paper are examples of reports, in addition to problem identification and troubleshooting of the host-based reports data that is collected by probes for computers, network-attached storage, and hypervisors in a Tivoli Storage Productivity Center environment.
This publication is intended for storage administrators and clients who are installing and using the features and functions of the IBM Tivoli Storage Productivity Center V4.2 Data Manager Reporting node for Monitored Computer Storage Space.
