IBM System Storage N Series and Data ONTAP

An IBM Redpaper publication

Abstract

Whenever an increasing number of clients in the customer base start to stress the architecture of the code, problems begin to occur. This paper discusses the NFS code redesign in Data ONTAP® 7.2.1 that was introduced to provide better access and matching logic, rule sharing, thread changes, new access cache and enhanced Network Status Monitor (NSM) capabilities. This redesign is intended to improve security as systems scale up with a large number of NFS clients.
