Abstract
IBM eServer Performance Technical Report
In this study, we present a series of benchmarks carried out on pSeries servers using BLAST (Basic Local Alignment Search Tool), one of the most popular and widely used programs for similarity searching. In particular, we compare the performance of the POWER3 series with the new pSeries 690 eServer. Scalability is measured as a function of the type of query (input fragment sequence) and type of database.
