Abstract
Business Process Management within an enterprise is the focus of MQSeries Workflow. This redbook describes the steps to implement a business process model. The solution brings together a number of business applications and provides a browser-based interface for any human interaction with a business process instance.
The applications that are linked together are implemented using a number of technologies. At one end, the solution integrates CICS transactions running on a z/OS back-end system. On the other end, it integrates Enterprise JavaBeans running in a WebSphere Application Server. The application integration is implemented by using MQSeries Integrator and the MQSeries Adapter Offering.
In this redbook, the business process model is built and extended in a number of steps. At each implementation phase, the reader is focused on deficiencies in the current implementation. Step-by-step the business process is refined to handle more exceptional conditions, to make sure that service level agreements are met and to make sure that profit margin is not impacted.
Finally, the redbook shows how the audit information of the business process management system can be used to improve the implementation even more.
