Alex Louwe Kooijmans is a project leader with the International Technical Support Organization (ITSO) in Poughkeepsie, NY, and specializes in SOA technology and solutions on System z. He also specializes in application modernization and transformation on z/OS. Previously he worked as a Client IT Architect in the Financial Services sector with IBM in The Netherlands, advising financial services companies on IT issues such as software and hardware strategy and on demand services. Alex has also worked at the Technical Marketing Competence Center for zSeries and Linux in Boeblingen, Germany, providing support to customers getting started with Java and WebSphere on System z. From 1997 to 2000, Alex completed a previous assignment with the ITSO, managing various IBM Redbooks projects and delivering workshops around the world in the areas of WebSphere, Java, and e-business technology on System z. Before 1997 Alex held a variety of positions in application design and development, product support and project management, mostly in relation to the IBM mainframe.
Nick Baguley is an Applications Architect working in the financial sector in South Africa. He has 20 years of experience on z/OS. His areas of expertise are legacy rejuvenation and service enablement.
Simon Chan is an IBM Certified Senior IT Specialist in WebSphere. He joined IBM in 1998 and is an Infrastructure Architect for Infrastructure Services, Securities Industry Services, FSS/GTS, for IBM Canada. Simon has rich experience in IBM System z infrastructure, Linux on System z infrastructure, WebSphere on z/OS and distributed systems. He is currently responsible for the SOA infrastructure enablement for Securities Industry Services.
Ignacio Perez Gonzalez is a Consulting Client IT Architect in Madrid, Spain. He has 10 years of experience in IBM, and additional experience prior to IBM as a system administrator. He holds a degree in Computer Science from the Universidad Politecnica de Madrid. He started his IBM career in Global Business Services as an Application Architect, and has worked with most IBM systems and software solutions, in particular UNIX servers and WebSphere products. Most recently he has focused on Public Sector industries solutions and SOA architecture design. He has written on topics related to mobile e-business solutions.
Foulques de Valence is a System z Web IT Architect with IBM and is currently based in Poughkeepsie, NY, where he works for the STG Lab Services team. He provides consulting services in the USA and worldwide concerning SOA, security and WebSphere products, with a focus on System z infrastructures. Previously, he was a Web infrastructure IT Architect in France specialized in SOA and z/OS. Foulques is a co-author of multiple Redbooks publications dealing with WebSphere on z/OS. He received a Master Degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Ensimag in France. He furthered his education at the State University of New York at Buffalo and at Stanford University, CA, USA.
Peter Verspecht is an IBM Certified IT Specialist working as SOA Infrastructure Architect for IBM Global Technology Services in Belgium. He joined IBM in 1998 and has 18 years of experience on z/OS, mainly in transaction (CICS and WebSphere) and database management (DB2). In recent years he also built skills in WebSphere and DB2 on distributed. He is an IBM Certified Administrator for SOA Solutions - WebSphere Process Server V6.0, IBM Certified SOA Solution Designer, and IBM Certified SOA Associate.
