Posted by Vladimir Stys on 29 June 2012 at 8:56 Hello, I am a bit puzzled with second table on page 47 (Supported enclosures). It states an unsupported controller M5025, followed by list of 3 enclosures, all these are supported by M5025, but only 2 supported by M5120, EXP3000 being the unsupported one. |
Posted by Vladimir Stys on 29 June 2012 at 8:56 EXP3000 is what I am aiming for, I need a modern server but keep two EXP3000 enclosures filled-up with SAS drives (quite an investment). I could settle with x3690 X5, which seems to be fully supported to connect to EXP3000 via M5025, this can make a double of CPU power comparing to our present x3850 M2, but I would much more like to have x3750 with double CPU power now and quad the CPU power later with additional 2 CPUs, 4 CPUs total. |
Posted by Vladimir Stys on 29 June 2012 at 8:57 So finaly my question :)) ... Is there a supported way to connect EXP3000 to x3750 without using a DS (only using PCIe RAID Card) ? Thanks for responses |
Posted by David Watts on 30 June 2012 at 9:30 Hi Vladimir, references to the M5025 controller were a typo. It should says M5120, since that is the RAID adapter with external ports that is supported by this server. Yes you can connect the EXP3000 directly to the server using the M5120 RAID adapter. |
