Excellent book.. Its so much better now with FileNet under IBM in terms of availability of technical red books.. Earlier it took me more than 6 months to dig out all this information from ecm_help and now its all available at finger tips...

Hello, I have been trying to run the apprlications given in the book but have been unsuccesful. Do we need some additional jar files (like for jsf?) i have deployed the Rental Web application and can see the login page, but if I click on Register or Login, it throws me 500 error. Anyone able to succesfully deploy and run the applications?

Justin ...

You're on the right track. The sample ZIP includes only the things unique to the sample application. It doesn't include standard P8 JARs/DLLs, etc, or 3rd party things like JSF support JARs (which are application server specific).

We tried to describe this in Chapter 7 of the book (look near the end for deployment instructions), but in some cases we just had to say "see your appserver documentation".

Very Good Book for the Startup and Advanced programming in FileNet. With the Redbooks online huge information is available rather than going through ECM help or surfing the internet. I think everybody can make this book as hand out while coding the applications.
