Elmar Billen is a Senior SAP Basis Consultant certified by SAP and Oracle. He has worked with SAP software since 1995 and has strong experience in using SAP on Linux and UNIX. He implemented several large SAP solutions and gained experience with system management, high availability, backup and recovery, migrations, and release upgrades. Since 2004 he has worked in the IBM POWER Linux team at SAP and participated in porting the SAP solutions to POWER Linux. He has a degree in physics from the University of MŸnster.
Carol Davis has been part of the IBM SAP International Competence Center (ISICC) team since 1996. Her primary focus is on the integration between SAP solutions and AIX with a focus on performance and scalability. She does a great deal of work in the area of supply chain solutions, business intelligence, and other core SAP solutions that target enterprise level workloads. She has been with IBM since 1986, coming to the ISICC from the area of high-availability banking and stock market systems. She has a BSc in Computer Science from the US, completed her masters work in the system design at the London School of Economics, and is a Certified Senior IT Specialist.
Katharina Denkinger contributes to SAP NetWeaver and AIX development since 2006 at the SAP headquarters in Walldorf, Germany. She has a Masters degree in Computer Sciences from the University TŸbingen in Germany. Katharina brings two years of experience of First Level AIX support for SAP customers to the team. She combines customer knowledge with insight about upcoming features of SAP software, POWER hardware, and AIX to drive the joint IBM/SAP development.
Irene Hopf has a degree in Material Science Engineering. She joined IBM in 1990 and started in the manufacturing facilities in IBM Germany. After further information technology studies, she joined the global IBM SAP team focusing on capacity planning for SAP solutions on IBM system environments in 1993. Irene is a certified SAP Technology Consultant. In the IBM SAP International Competence Center she was responsible for multiple performance-related projects and spent two years on an international assignment in the IBM Toronto Lab, Canada. In her current role as a Senior IT Architect, Irene is responsible in the ISICC for on-demand solutions for SAP customers. Her latest projects focused on SAP environments running on IBM PowerVM virtualization technologies and multiple customer experiences in that area. Irene maintains the analyst relationships to e.g. Gartner and IDC for IBM virtualization technologies in the SAP ecosystem.
James Nugen has been a member of AIX porting team at SAP since 1995. He is an IBM Certified Advanced Technical Expert - pSeries and AIX 5L. Jim has a degree in BSEE from Pricenton University and a MSc from the University of Reading.
Olaf Rutz studied at the Technical University in Darmstadt and has a Master degree in Computer Science. He joined IBM in 1995 and since then worked in several SAP related projects directly at SAP. During this time, he gained several years of experience in porting SAP applications to zSeries, iSeries, and pSeries. In his current role, he is the Team Lead for the SAP on AIX team in St. Leon-Rot.
Andreas Steiner is a Software Engineer and has a degree in Computer Sciences from the University of Applied Sciences of Worms in Germany. He is a member of the SAP on Power (AIX) Development team at SAP in Germany since 2003 and joined IBM in 2005. In his current role, Andreas is the technical focal point for Java on IBM platforms at SAP. His latest projects focus on AIX 6.1 pre validation in SAP environments and evaluating WPARs for SAP environments
Niels Abildskov is a Certified IT Architect and in the last 13 years worked with infrastructure and middleware architectures in combination with SAP. He has 25 years of experience with UNIX and 20 years of experience with AIX. He has designed and implemented several large SAP solutions, gaining experience with virtualization, system management, high availability, security, document management, disaster/recovery, complex integration, large migrations, and release upgrades. His long career in IT, mainly in customer-facing roles, gives him comprehensive skills in developing solution architectures that are well suited for real-life implementation.
Carsten Dieterle is an IT architect in the Technical Sales Support division from Stuttgart, Germany. He has ten years of experience in the AIX and SAP infrastructure design and implementation field. He has a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from the University in Stuttgart. He has worked at IBM for eleven years. His areas of knowledge include AIX, High Availability, SAP, and TSM. The last years he was a Project Manager for SAP infrastructure projects. Carsten Dieterle is a Certified SAP/R3 Basis and Migration Consultant.
Wilhelm Koestinger is a Server IT Specialist with IBM Global Technology Services in Austria. He has a degree in Information Technology and Systems Management (ITS) from the University of Applied Sciences in Salzburg, Austria and has worked for IBM since 2000. He has five years of experience in Linux and AIX. He currently provides technical support for clients that run high-available SAP environments on IBM System p and TotalStorage infrastructure.
Nikolaj Lyngfeldt is an IT Architect in IBM Global Business Services in Denmark. He has a degree in Computer Science and is studying towards his Master degree at the IT University of Copenhagen. He is a Senior SAP Technology Consultant and has ten years of experience in the SAP Basis and AIX field and has both practical and academic experience with System p virtualization concepts. He has written extensively on service-oriented architecture, design and planning, monitoring, high availability, and value of virtualization.
Mark Smith is a Senior Software Engineer working in the IBM System p test organization for IBM USA. He has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. During 25 years with IBM, his experience ranges from software testing to printed circuit card manufacturing and hardware development. Mark's 10 years in UNIX Product Test provides him experience with Power 4, 5, and 6 platforms, Graphics Workstations, AIX, Linux on Power, and VIO servers. He recently completed an assignment to create a new test environment using SAP software to validate new Power 6 systems with customer-like scenarios.
