Bruno Blanchard is a Certified IT Specialist in France, working for the IBM world-wide ITD Technology Integration and Management Competency. He has been with IBM for 24 years, and has about 20 years of experience in AIX and IBM pSeries. He has helped to write several other IBM Redbooks in addition to this one. He is currenlty involved as an IT architect in projects deploying eServer p5 in on Demand data centers, server consolidation environments and large server farms. His areas of expertise include pSeries virtualization and OS provisioning.
Pedro Coelho is an advisory IT Specialist with IBM Global Services in Portugal. He has eight years of experience in AIX and Linux in the area of post-sale support and services. He holds a masters degree in Computer science from COCITE, Lisbon. His areas of expertise include HACMP and performance analysis and tuning. He is also working with IBM Learning Services to teach beginning and advanced classes on AIX 5L and Linux.
Mary Hazuka is an IBM System p Field Technical Sales Specialist (FTSS) in the Chicago area, a role she has held for the past 7 years. As an FTSS, Mary has experienced first hand how customers implement IBM products in their data centers. Prior to IBM, she worked for 5 years at Sequent, Inc., becoming an IBM employee when Sequent was acquired by IBM. During the transition Mary learned Sequent's Dynix/PTX operating system for the NUMA systems, followed by IBM's AIX. She credits the AIX System Management Interface Tool (commonly called SMIT) and Redbooks with easing her switch to AIX. Mary holds two degrees in Music Education, a bachelor's degree from Mundelein College and a master's degree from Illinois State University.
Jerry Petru is a Senior Technical Advocate and works in the AIX Collaboration Center based out of Austin Texas. He has over twenty years of experience in the technical industry. He has worked extensively in support of large corporate UNIX environments and has designed and implemented system security, high availability and disaster recovery plans for some of the world's largest companies. Mr. Petru has written and taught more than twenty different courses based on AIX, DNS, Internet Security, Linux, LPAR and micro-partition technology. Jerry developed the Regatta Installation cook book on Power4 and led creation of the Advanced Power Virtualization workshop for Power5.
Theeraphong Thitayanun is a Certified Consulting IT Specialist for IBM Thailand. His main responsibility is to provide services and support in all areas of the System p product set. His areas of expertise include AIX/PSSP, LPAR/HMC, PLM, GPFS/AFS, HACMP, HACMP/XD for Metro Mirror and DB2 Universal Database. He holds a Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering from Chulalongkorn University and, as a Monbusho student, a Masters degree in Information Technology from Nagoya Institute of Technology, Japan.
Chris Almond an ITSO/Redbooks Project Leader and IT Architect based at the ITSO Center in Austin, Texas. In his current role, he specializes in managing technical content development projects focused on Linux and AIX 5L systems engineering. He has a total of 17 years IT industry experience, including the last eight with IBM.
