This Redpaper should include considerations for HSL loop saturation when high-speed fibre channel (tape), communications and/or disk adapters share the same loop. Density of storage per loop should be addressed in light of the 24-drive enclosures. In high I/O environments loop saturation or degradation may occur with only disk traffic.

Steve, your comments are "right on." To do a good job on this subject we should also consider 12x loops. Given current human resources limitations, the best I can say is I will submit this topic as a "RIO-2 (HSL-2) and 12X topic performance" for a 2009 Redxxxx project. That does not mean it would be funded. I know how much work and "getting agreements on how things were presented" it took to get current REDP-3919 published.
