The linked redbook is about z/OS, which is different than POWER, right? Is this just a confusing choice of words? Has IBM chosen to include z/OS in the already murky Power brand (AIX and IBM i are chalk and cheese)?

Hello, Mr. McCarthy. I post the links and I don't follow your question. The linked redbook is SG24-8009, which is all about POWER and not about z/OS. I used both Firefox and IE.

Some of the same authors did write a redpaper about deploying a cloud on z/OS, which is REDP-4772. Are you saying that you see this redpaper when you click on the link for the POWER redbook? If so, please explain so I can track it down.

The redpaper on z/OS is entitled "Deploying a Cloud on IBM System z" and the form number is REDP-4711. It can be viewed and downloaded from this website.

It is a shame that you limited yourself to only one of POWER's three Operating Systems ... and probably not the best one for Cloud either. Did you have nobody skilled in IBM i?

Mr. Taylor, thanks for your kind words about System i. There are many i experts in the company. The foundational software for i cloud implementation is IBM® Systems Director VMControl™. Please note that not all organizations in IBM write redpapers about their products.
