    Abstract

In this Redpaper, we explore how IBM Patterns for e-business can contribute to the development of a solution based on a single Business pattern. We will make clear that Patterns for e-business are not a replacement for any development method in use during solution design or delivery, but are essentially an asset selection technique, together with a rich set of associated assets, that can be used during the phases and activities of a solution design and delivery project. In order to relate the contribution of Patterns for e-business to the various phases and activities of solution design (project proposal) and solution delivery, the overall discussion has been framed within the overall structure of the Rational Unified Process (RUP).
